Iran recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within the framework of international laws.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that his country does not recognize the inclusion of the temporarily occupied Crimea into Russia, as well as the separation of Donetsk and Lugansk regions from Ukraine.
The minister's statement is quoted by the Turkish agency TRT World.

“We recognize the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within the framework of international laws, therefore, despite the excellent relations between Tehran and Moscow, we have not recognized the secession of Crimea…Luhansk and Donetsk regions from Ukraine…” he said. Iran's Foreign Minister stressed that his country professes “a consistent principle in foreign policy.”
“When we say that the conflict in Ukraine is not a solution, we believe in our position as a fundamental political principle on which we rely,” he explained somewhat vaguely.
Recall that the United States does not exclude that Iran may be held responsible for helping Russia in its war against Ukraine, because it supplies weapons used to strike infrastructure.
