Iraqi Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Moscow on June 23, 2025. He met with Vladimir Putin. The reason for the visit is probably the strikes on Iran.
The day before, the United States of America attacked Iranian nuclear facilities. Abbas Araghchi may have come to ask Putin for help, since both countries are considered partners. The head of the Center for Public Analysis “Tower” Valery Klochok told 24 Kanal that it turns out that Moscow is fighting against Washington on Iranian territory.
Will there be a direct conflict between Russia and the US?
There are reports that Russia has nothing else to give Iran in its confrontation with Israel and the United States except sympathy and words of support .
“Abbas Araghchi came to Moscow with a letter from the spiritual leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, in which they ask for help. The question arises, what kind of help can Russia provide?”, said Valery Klochok.
Most of the air defense systems that the Iranians had were obtained from the Russians. As is known, Israel destroyed a significant part of these air defense systems. This shows their insufficient effectiveness.
I don't think that Russia is capable of allocating a certain number of air defense systems in the conditions of attacks carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Russia. The territory of Iran is large and Russia itself does not have enough of them, – said the head of the Center for Public Analysis.
Despite this, there is a possibility that Kresl could reach an agreement with the Chinese so that they would transfer their air defense systems to Iran under the guise of Russian ones .
However, it won't be possible to hide this for long, and the Europeans and Americans will definitely find out about it. Klochok believes that if the situation develops exactly like this, then there can be no talk of any warming in relations between the US and Russia.
Recall that US President Donald Trump announced a successful airstrike on three Iranian nuclear facilities – Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. According to him, it was a “very successful military operation” which, in his opinion, should prompt Tehran to end the war. It is also reported that Israel was warned about the attack in advance, and the US is not planning any new actions, seeking to return Iran to negotiations.
