Information about the assassination attempts is included in a new book about Trump's election campaign, “2024: How Trump Won the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” which will be released soon.
The authors claim that in September 2024, US intelligence warned Trump's campaign about the presence of Iranian killers in the US. This influenced the behaviour of the politician's team, routes and security measures.
US law enforcement is also investigating the suspects' possible involvement with Iranian intelligence services. The book says Iranian agents attempted to assassinate US officials at least three times before Trump was elected, as well as an assassination attempt on Mike Pompeo in Paris in 2022.
