Iran ready to transfer ballistic missiles to Russia – ISW analyst

Several factors could influence a potential agreement.

Iran is really ready for an agreement on the sale of missiles Russian side. We are talking about the ballistic Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar.

ISW analyst Amin Soltani stated this in a comment to LIGA.net.

When an agreement can be concluded

By According to the analyst, as early as October Iran will be able to sell missiles to Moscow following the completion of the UN resolution.

“In recent weeks, we have seen signs that Iran is ready for export, and Russia is interested in several Iranian missile systems,” noted Soltani.

He noted that in exchange Tehran could ask Moscow for Su-35 aircraft, S-400 air defense systems, assistance with space, missile, nuclear programs, as well as Western weapons that were “trophied” in Ukraine. Obviously, the Iranians intend to use this to produce their own.

It is still very difficult to predict whether an agreement will be concluded. The fact is that this depends on the dynamics of relations between Iran and Russia and the priorities of the Iranians in the context of negotiations with the West on the nuclear program. The analyst stated that the sale of Iranian missiles to Russia will likely have an impact on the chances of success of comprehensive nuclear negotiations.

Note that the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine previously responded to the potential agreement. Thus, the speaker of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region, Andrei Yusov, said that there is a threat of Russia acquiring Iranian ballistic missiles, but the Ukrainian intelligence agency is “taking measures” to prevent this from happening.
