Iran is not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons, President Ibrahim Raisi said during a speech at the UN General Assembly 21 September.
Tehran has repeatedly assured that the purpose of Iran's nuclear program is peaceful.
“Iran is not trying to create or obtain nuclear weapons,” Raisi said.

He also recalled the order issued earlier by the supreme leader of the country, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, that Iran does not need nuclear weapons.
Recall, on September 21, Putin said that the “collective West” was allegedly fighting against Russia and threatened the world with the use of nuclear weapons.
Later at the UN General Assembly, US President Joe Biden condemned Putin for nuclear threats to Ukraine and the world.
