Iran has transferred weapons and military to Iraq amid the conflict with the United States. Writes about this edition of Al Qabas, citing sources in the Islamic Republic.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC, part of the country's armed forces) has deployed short-range missiles and drones to Iraq, as well as two units of the best IRGC officers. According to the newspaper, the weapons were placed at facilities and in camps belonging to Iraqi armed groups.

According to sources, the IRGC could strike targets in the region (not necessarily in Iraq) in the coming weeks. This is likely to happen after the departure of US President Donald Trump from office. The publication also believes that Tehran plans to avenge the murder of Iranian nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.

On December 26, the deputy commander of the IRGC detachment, Mohammad Hejazi, said that revenge for the murder of the head of the elite Al-Quds special unit of the IRGC Qasem Soleimani remains on the agenda. The American side has allegedly already received “slaps” for the murder of the general: they were the large-scale funeral of Suleimani and Iran's retaliatory missile strike on the American military base Ain al-Assad.
