Despite US President Donald Trump's claims that a ceasefire would soon come into effect, Iran launched a new rocket attack on Israeli territory on June 24.

The Israel Defense Forces reported this, Sky News writes.

Sirens were heard in several areas and citizens were advised to take shelter. Explosions were later heard over Tel Aviv.

“Sirens were sounded in several areas of Israel after missiles were detected launched from Iran towards the State of Israel. The Israeli Air Force is currently carrying out interception and strike operations where necessary to eliminate the threat,” the military emphasized.

According to emergency services, three people were killed in the Iranian strike in southern Israel. It is noted that the missile hit a residential building in Be'er Sheva. In addition, three people were hospitalized in moderate condition.

Recall that US President Donald Trump said that Iran and Israel have agreed to a complete ceasefire. According to him, the ceasefire should begin six hours after the end of current combat missions.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said there was no formal ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. However, he said Tehran would not continue retaliatory strikes if Israel stopped its actions by 4 a.m. Tehran time.
