Negotiations in Vienna to re-establish the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program are moving in the right direction. This is how Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan assessed their progress, TASS reports.
“If the other participants continue in good faith with the round of negotiations begun at this stage, we will reach a good agreement,” the diplomat said. According to him, the delegation of the Islamic republic is focused on the unified text of the document, and the other parties – on the issues of the deal, which Tehran has bracketed. Abdollahiyan noted that the Iranian side is working on an agreement on the existing differences.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States and Iran are preparing steps to return to the nuclear deal. He noted that the Russian side, together with Chinese and European partners, called for the synchronization of the preparation of a package of reciprocal actions by Tehran and Washington.
