Russia is strengthening ties with its allies.

Russia is deepening cooperation with Iran and North Korea, which are providing Russia with lethal assistance for the war against Ukraine.

This is reported by Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

In particular, Iran will launch its Hod-Hod and Kosar satellites into low Earth orbit from an unspecified Russian station in October 2024.

According to Bloomberg, North Korea's gross domestic product grew by 3.1% in 2023 compared to 2022, after declining annually since 2019.

The Bank of Korea estimates that North Korea's heavy and chemical industries, particularly iron, steel, copper, nickel and aluminum, grew the most in 2023, up 8.1%.

Earlier, South Korean Defense Minister Shin Wonsik stated that Russia's supply of food to North Korea in exchange for weapons helped the DPRK stabilize prices and probably stimulated domestic production in North Korea.

At the same time, North Korea transferred up to 4.8 million artillery shells to Russia, and Iran supplied Shahed-136/131 drones and their components to Russia.

Recall that earlier NATO called China a “decisive factor” in the war against Russia. The Alliance countries condemned China and demanded that China “cease any material and political support for Russia's military actions.” Beijing responded with indignation, calling NATO's statement “provocative.”
