The global smartphone market in 2021 should show strong growth after a serious downturn in 2020. An analyst report shows that iPhone shipments will grow faster than Android smartphone shipments.
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), total smartphone shipments will reach 1.37 billion units in 2021. This is 7.4% more than last year.
Shipments of Android smartphones will increase by 6.2%. But for the iPhone, this figure will be at the level of 13.8%.
The reason for this is the strong demand for the iPhone 12, which is Apple's first 5G smartphones. IDC is confident that it is support for 5G that will continue to be the main driver of supply growth in 2021.
