The company representatives emphasized that the iPhone 12 has a number of magnets, which are more than in previous models of Apple smartphones. In close contact, these magnets may interact with implanted pacemakers and defibrillators. In this regard, it is recommended to keep the device at a safe distance of more than 15 centimeters or 30 centimeters when charging wirelessly.
Apple also recommended that you consult with a physician, healthcare professional, or medical device manufacturer before using iPhone 12. “If you suspect that iPhone or any MagSafe accessories are interfering with your medical device, stop using iPhone or MagSafe accessories,” says in the message.
Introduced in the fall of 2020, the iPhone 12 series smartphones, like MagSafe wireless charging, have a certain number of magnets. They ensure the correct position of the phone in relation to the charger and attachment of accessories.
