The cost of the iPhone 12 mini dropped below 60 thousand rubles. A record price reduction is reported by the Hi-Tech Mail.ru edition.
According to the project catalog, the basic version of the iPhone 12 mini with a 64 GB drive is available on the Russian market for 56,750 rubles. At the same time, in the official Apple store, the device is estimated at at least 70 thousand rubles. “The demand for such a small smartphone turned out to be too low, so stores quickly began to reduce prices,” the journalists explained the discount.
The 5.4-inch device turned out to be the smallest smartphone in the current series of Apple devices, presented on October 13, 2020. The device has an OLED screen, an Apple A14 Bionic chip, 5G support, a dual camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels, support for fast charging via a wireless MagSafe accessory.
The closest smartphone competitor in the Apple lineup – the iPhone 12 – features a 6.1-inch display and increased battery life. The cost of the starter version with a 64 gigabyte drive is 63,499 rubles.
Earlier, JP Morgan analyst William Yang stated low sales of iPhone 12 mini. According to the expert, Apple is unhappy with the model's performance and plans to stop production by the second quarter of 2021. The corporation will direct the vacated production facilities to the assembly of Pro-versions of new smartphones and the release of the iPhone 11 long-seller.
