Invention that gives hope – “universal” donor lungs appeared in Canada.

Scientists from the University of Toronto have created an organ that can be transplanted into patients with any blood type . The effect was achieved thanks to human enzymes – the lungs were placed in a special apparatus, saturated with their necessary compounds. This method is experimental, its doctors used for the first time, although they took as a basis all previous studies in this area.
Scientists hope that in the future the technology will help in the transplantation of not only lungs, but also other organs. However , clinical studies should be carried out first – the first of them are planned for next year.
