The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has joined the organization's code. Cooperation is reported on the agency's website.

The head of WADA Witold Banka said that the organization welcomes IMMAF. “The Federation has become part of the global movement for the purity of sports,” he said.

Coach John Kavanagh, under whose leadership Conor McGregor was preparing for the battles, approved the joining of IMMAF to WADA. In his opinion, this will bring MMA closer to recognition in every country in the world. He also sees this as a step towards the recognition of mixed martial arts as an Olympic sport.

IMMAF has been operating since 2012. The organization organizes international MMA tournaments among amateurs – world and European championships. The leader in the number of medals in the world championships is the US team. She has six gold awards, one silver and seven bronze medals.
