The Russian occupiers have about ten left aircraft long-range radar detection A-50, represented by two different modifications. The Russian Federation cannot produce new ships of this type.
This was stated during the telethon by GUR representative Andrey Yusov.
According to him, the destruction of the A-50 aircraft for the invaders is a significant loss of funds for the Russian Federation. In addition, such weapons will not return to the battlefield.
“An important fact, Russia today has missed the opportunity to produce such aircraft. Therefore, the loss of each such unit is a multiply increased loss, it is not recoverable. This is a huge loss if we talk about the amount of funds,” Yusov notes.
In addition, according to the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the destruction of the A-50 aircraft over the Sea of Azov is also a significant loss of funds for the Russian occupiers.
Yusov says that the Russian reaction to the damage to the A-50 and the damage to the Il-22 can be compared with the reaction to the destruction of the cruiser Moskva.
“These are also very significant events and the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are very successful. Objections, omissions and confessions,” the intelligence officer added.
Recall that on January 15, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, confirmed that the PS was destroyed by Russian A-50 and Il-22 aircraft over the Sea of Azov.
British intelligence assessed the importance of eliminating the A-50. In particular, this will lead to restriction of the aviation coverage areas of the aggressor country, Russia.
