The ability to publish photos and videos from a computer has appeared on the Instagram social network. Until then, it was only possible to post from mobile devices. The function is currently in test mode and is not available to all users. Officially, Instagram did not announce its launch; users of social networks and specialized publications drew attention to it.
On June 23, the Engadget portal wrote about the new feature in the desktop version of Instagram. Social media users have posted screenshots of what the new feature looks like.

Some users on Instagram have a plus icon in the upper right corner. After clicking, the account owner is prompted to upload photos or videos. Users can then resize the image, apply filters, or manually adjust individual parameters such as brightness or contrast.
Alessandro Paluzzi, the developer of mobile applications, wrote about the imminent launch of such a function back in mid-May. He showed the relevant screenshots, but did not specify when testing will begin.
In June, Twitter account Social Media Traning School reported that desktop Instagram began displaying statistics for individual posts. Previously, this feature was only available on mobile devices. As noted by the portal Digital Information World, the option is at the testing stage and is not available in all regions.
In June, Instagram carried out a large-scale platform update in Russia. The option to add music to their stories has become available to users. In addition, an analogue of TikTok, a service for short videos Reels, was integrated into the social network.
