From June 23, 2021, Russian Instagram users will have access to the functions of creating short videos and adding music to Stories on the Facebook social network
As told reporters in Facebook, short entertainment videos can be created in the Reels tab – an analogue of the Chinese TikTok. New music stickers are also waiting for users.
It will be possible to add music to the Facebook social network profile in the “Hobbies and interests” section. Your favorite song will be pinned to the profile header and played every time someone visits the user's page.
Using the Reels tab, you can create videos up to 20 seconds in length with augmented reality effects, Facebook reported. Such videos will be available for publication in Stories or post format, and the user will be able to choose with whom to share the video. In addition, Reels allows you to add audio tracks from the application catalog or select music from a recommendation, as well as create your own original tracks.
“We are just at the beginning of the development of musical functions and Reels in Russia and will continue to work with all types of partners, be they labels, distributors or performers, to determine the formats of cooperation,” the company said.
Last summer, Instagram confirmed the launch of Reels, the equivalent of China's TikTok app, in over 50 countries.
