Moscow. August 3rd. INTERFAX.RU – New species of sea stars will settle in the center of oceanography and marine biology “Moskvarium” at VDNKh, the press service of the exhibition reported.
“Two new species will settle in the exposition at once: the New Guinea pillow and the blue linchia,” the message says.
New inhabitants of the aquarium came from Indonesia for further study. An ecosystem of tropical waters in an open aquarium was created for them in Moscow.

The New Guinea pillow is one of the largest species of sea stars in the oceans, with a diameter of up to forty centimeters. In shape, this invertebrate resembles a ball, since its five rays are barely indicated relative to the massive body.
Blue linchia is widespread in the tropical zone. It is distinguished by its bright color, which is practically not found in other stars. This invertebrate has long, thin rays.
