The Indonesian authorities will not impose the previously announced restrictions in the country during the New Year holidays. This was reported on the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

Thus, the government changed its mind to restrict the operation of cafes and shops from December 24 to January 2 throughout the country – these measures were previously reported by the Minister-Coordinator for Human Development and Culture Muhajir Efendi. In addition, it was decided not to shorten the duration of the PCR tests.

Also, the initiative to introduce maximum restrictions for foreign tourists was not adopted until the closure of the country's borders for the period of New Year's holidays – from December 24 to January 2.

However, only Russians vaccinated with Sputnik V can enter Indonesia on a business visa (tourist visas are not issued). In this case, it is necessary to present a PCR test made 48 hours before arrival in the country, and then go through a 10-day quarantine in a certified hotel in Jakarta or Manado. After that, travelers take another test for coronavirus and are free to move around the state.

Earlier in December, it was reported that Russians massively wanted to wait out the winter in five foreign countries. Thus, the most popular destinations are Armenia, Thailand, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka.
