Individual drug concentrations will be selected for the Sputnik V study for adolescents
Clinical trials of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine will involve 350 adolescents aged 12 to 17 years. For each age, experts will select an individual concentration of the drug, writes TASS.
The director of the Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, said that conducting research in which children will participate will not differ from adult tests conducted earlier, except for different concentrations of the drug for each age.
“We will see how the vaccine works. I think the side effects will be minimal. If the effectiveness of the diluted dose is sufficient, then we will stop there, ”the specialist said.
As a reminder, a clinical study of the Sputnik V vaccine for adolescents 12-17 years old will begin in Moscow in July. It will be held in three phases, the first two – on the basis of two children's hospitals, the third – in the capital's polyclinics.
