Experts are concerned that delta-plus is resistant to antibodies and easily overcomes immune defenses. Scientists are currently investigating how effective vaccines are against this type of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the Novosibirsk Scientific Center “Vector” said that no cases of infection with the “delta plus” strain were registered in Russia.
“At present, the“ delta plus ”variant has not been recorded in the Russian Federation and it is not known what place this variety will take among other circulating variants,” RIA Novosti quotes Siberian specialists.
Vektor said that the epidemic potential of the new variant of the virus has yet to be assessed.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that there is no shortage of anticancer vaccines in Russia and will not arise in the future.
