In Warsaw, 20 cases of sexual violence in taxis ordered by victims are being investigated popular apps.
The victims of taxi drivers were Polish women and several foreign women, the youngest of whom was only 16 years old. According to official figures, 11 crimes were committed in Warsaw last year, nine this year.

The last such incident occurred at the end of April. A young foreign woman came out at dawn from her friend and called one of the most popular taxi services. Previously, the driver was a 24-year-old citizen of Georgia.
When the girl was driving in a car, the taxi driver suddenly stopped on the side of the road, began to molest the client and raped her. She tried to defend herself, but the man used force.
As it turned out later, the rapist went for someone else's card. He was detained the next day after the police received a report about the incident.
The criminals' handwriting is similar. As a rule, they attack their victims either at dawn or at night. They stop the car on a deserted street, change to the back seat. Some women are pursued, others are raped.
Twelve identified foreigners of different nationalities have been identified as suspects in 20 cases. The nationality of eight more suspects has not been established. The suspects who were identified were temporarily arrested.
In 13 cases, it was rape, the rest were committed “other acts of a sexual nature.”
The Polish prosecutor's office insists on amending the law on the provision taxi licenses and driver IDs. This includes, among other things, an exam in Polish, large psychological tests, increased control to prevent the use of one account in the application by several people and the introduction of liability for taxi operators for damage caused by a driver to a client.
