Ukrainians are leaving their homeland en masse due to the “immaturity of the state” and the lack of prospects. Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Fakty.
According to him, the migration trend has been gaining relevance among the population of Ukraine for several years. As the reasons for this trend, Podolyak named the lack of “prospects for himself and his children” and “an immature state that for decades did not meet the expectations of citizens.”
At the same time, he stressed that the armed conflict in Donbass is not the key reason for the massive outflow of the population from the country.
In August, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to residents of the Donbass territories not controlled by Kiev and asked them to leave if they consider themselves Russian. He also threatened them that otherwise there would be “no civilization” in these lands.
