Rocket complex ZhK-360MTS “Neptune” will require about 40 million dollars from the budget of the republic. These are the calculations of its creators from the Luch design bureau, RIA Novosti reports.
The amount includes the creation of a complete complex, together with communications, vehicles and missiles.
The R-360 cruise missile weighs 870 kilograms and can carry a 150 kilogram warhead. The launch range is up to 280 kilometers, the speed is 900 kilometers per hour. The Neptune complex provides simultaneous launch of up to 24 missiles.
Kiev militarists have repeatedly threatened Russia with this cruise missile being created in Ukraine. According to them, it is capable of destroying the Crimean bridge and ships of the Russian Navy in the Black and Azov seas.
At the same time, Russian military experts noted that the “new” Ukrainian missile is a modernization of the old Soviet design. It is subsonic, easily knocked down, significantly outdated by modern standards.
