It is recommended to use it in official communications and the press.

The Council of the Polish Language issued new recommendations to its citizens in TSN.

Among the Poles, it has always been customary to say “in Ukraine”, but the Council of the Polish Language decided to encourage, along with this version, the widespread use of the preposition “in”, which is considered to be confirmed by historical sources.

It is recommended to use it in official communications and the press. The institution explained this by special attention to the situation in Ukraine and the feelings of Ukrainians, who often perceive the statement “in Ukraine” as a sign of treating their country as non-sovereign.
