The Ukrainian authorities will fine employers for indicating the wishes of the sex of the applicant in an advertisement with a vacancy. This is reported by the Ukrainian portal “Vesti”.

The law will come into force on January 8th. According to the newspaper, it will also be forbidden to indicate the desired age of the employee, gender, language of communication and put forward requirements for skin color, religious and other beliefs in the job announcement – this is how the authorities are fighting sexism and advocating for gender equality. For non-compliance with the norms, a fine will be issued in ten times the minimum wage, it will amount to 65 thousand hryvnia (176 thousand rubles).

On December 28, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Servant of the People faction Maksym Buzhansky introduced a draft law on the voluntary admission of women to military registration. He said that 58 deputies from different factions had become co-authors, and apologized to the Ukrainian women for the authorities' initiative on compulsory military registration for women.

Earlier it was reported that next year in the country all women between the ages of 18 and 60 will be required to report to the military registration and enlistment office at their place of residence and find out whether they are suitable for registration, depending on their education and profession. Otherwise, they will be fined.
