In Ukrainian Lviv, by order of the local authorities, the dismantling of the Monument of Glory to the Soviet Army, opened in 1970 in memory of the victors over Nazism, began. This was reported on the website of the Lviv City Council.

“Last year, the city executive committee decided to hold an architectural competition for the territory where the Glory Monument is now located. We also have a decision on the phased dismantling of the elements of the monument, ”the words of the first deputy mayor of the city Andrey Moskalenko are quoted on the portal. He explained that at this stage the bas-reliefs are being dismantled, then they will be transported to the Territory of Terror museum. After that, the dismantling of the monument slabs will begin.

At the same time, Moskalenko found it difficult to name the timing of the completion of all work, calling them difficult. According to him, in parallel, preparations are underway for the announcement of an architectural competition for the space where the Monument of Glory is located, after the dismantling of all structures.

In 2018, the executive committee of the Lviv City Council recognized the emergency stele of the Monument of Glory and decided to dismantle it.

At the end of January in Ukraine, the country's last monument to the organizer of the October Revolution, Vladimir Lenin, was demolished, said Vadim Pozdnyakov, an activist of the Decommunization.Ukraine movement. The monument was located in the village of Starye Troyany, Odessa region. According to the activist, there is no longer a single monument to the revolutionary left in the republic, with the exception of those located in private plots or territories not controlled by Kiev.
