In the Republic of Turkey, 61 people died from poisoning with counterfeit alcohol. This was reported by the Habertürk TV channel.
According to the latest data, cases of poisoning with fake alcohol have been recorded throughout Turkey. The largest number of casualties was recorded in Istanbul, where the death toll reached 30.
The Turkish police reported that five suspects in the organization of production and marketing of low-quality alcohol were detained in the north of the country.
In November, five residents of Perm died after drinking alcohol, three of them were members of the same family. The Investigative Committee said that after drinking alcohol, one person died in the apartment, and his wife and daughter were taken to the hospital, where they later died. In addition, two neighbors were killed. Alcohol was brought to them by the daughter of the victims.
Earlier, three people died from poisoning with fake alcohol in the Kurgan region, three more were injured. All those who were poisoned used fake low-quality cognac.
