The US military reported on successful tests, in which the warhead of an AGM-183A ARRW hypersonic aeroballistic missile was detonated for the first time.
This is the same rocket, which has been under development since 2018 by the forces of Lockheed Martin, writes N + 1. In February 2020, she defended the ammunition project, and has already advanced in its development so much that its warhead is detonated as part of the tests.
To date, there is practically no information on the network about the technical characteristics of ARRW. It is only clear that the gun will receive a solid-propellant engine and a detachable hypersonic gliding warhead.
Note that back in April, the US military tried to launch ARRW. But then, at the appointed time, they did not succeed. The rocket remained hanging on a pylon under the wing of a B-52 bomber.
