In the United States, more than 900 thousand deaths have been detected due to the effects of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic. This is evidenced by data published on the website of Johns Hopkins University.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, a total of 901,388 people have died from the effects of COVID-19. At the same time, over 60 thousand deaths have been recorded in the last four weeks alone.
In addition, about a third of all deaths of patients with coronavirus occur in the period from November 2020 to February 2021, when a sharp jump in the incidence was recorded in the country.
In total, 76.4 million Americans have been infected with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic. Against the background of the spread of the omicron strain of infection, more than 17 million cases of infection have been recorded in the last four weeks.
Earlier, scientists at Johns Hopkins University (USA) stated that there is no evidence of the effectiveness of lockdowns in suppressing the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Experts conducted a systematic review and statistical analysis of the existing scientific literature, which would potentially confirm the opinion that lockdowns reduce mortality from COVID-19.
