Member of the US House of Representatives Donald Norcross admitted that there is a shortage of 800 fighters in the US. He criticized funding for Lockheed Martin's F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighter program, which is failing to meet the challenge of reimbursement.
According to Lenta.ru, influential representatives of the US Democratic Party decided not to support the increase in funding for Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II until the program begins to solve an extensive list of its problems.
Norcross said the lack of progress could result in the authorities having to invest in other, more affordable programs. This will make it possible to fill the shortage of more than 800 tactical fighters ”.
Another member of the US House of Representatives committee, John Garamendi, noted that the F-35 Lightning II program has already gone beyond budget, and cannot realize the promised capabilities.
