The Russian Project 1155 multipurpose frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, equipped, in particular, with the Kalibr-NK and Uranus missile systems, is called “armed to the teeth” in the publication of the American magazine The National Interest.
The publication reminds that the range of the corresponding missiles is estimated at 1500-2500 kilometers. Moreover, as the magazine writes, Marshal Shaposhnikov can be equipped with Zircon hypersonic missiles.
The National Interest notes that after the modernization of Marshal Shaposhnikov, “which has established itself as a combat-ready ship,” the remaining Russian Project 1155 frigates will also be updated.
In March, Izvestia, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense, reported that Marshal Shaposhnikov would receive a 100-mm A-190-01 stealth artillery mount instead of two 100-mm AK-100 bow cannons.
In May 2014, Marshal Shaposhnikov arrived in the Gulf of Aden and began to maintain an anti-piracy watch, in particular, escorting a convoy of civilian ships to safe waters in the Red Sea.
