RMS Titanic has announced plans to lift a telegraph from the sunken ship that could shed light on one of the biggest tragedies in the history of navigation – the sinking of the Titanic.

The US authorities argue that there is no need to disturb the remains of one and a half thousand people who drowned in the crash.

According to the representatives of RMS Titanic, the Marconi wireless telegraph apparatus, which transmitted distress signals in the first hours of the tragedy, can help to understand the details of the tragedy.

Some experts argue that a number of reports from the Titanic may have been misinterpreted. The US authorities oppose attempts to enter the sunken ship, arguing that such actions are contrary to American and international law.

The transatlantic steamer Titanic, the largest passenger ship in the world when launched, crashed in mid-April 1912, colliding with an iceberg in the North Atlantic on its maiden voyage.

The crash killed about 1,500 people, most of whom could not stand hypothermia. 712 passengers and crew members of the sunken ship were picked up by the Carpathia, which arrived at the scene of the tragedy an hour and a half after the Titanic, having broken in two, completely disappeared under water.

The wreckage was discovered in 1985 at a depth of almost 4000 meters. Since then, about two dozen expeditions have been carried out, during which dozens of artifacts have been lifted from the ship.
