Threat levels remain elevated in the United States due to potential incitement to violence and the risk of committing it. This is stated in a report by the US Department of Homeland Security published on the agency's website.
The ministry clarified that they did not have information about the impending conspiracy. “Frustrated by the exercise of state powers and the change of presidency, as well as, presumably, having other claims, can continue to mobilize a wide range of ideologically motivated actors to incite or commit violence,” the report says.
On January 23, it was reported that five thousand National Guard fighters would be left in Washington due to the danger of riots. The military is tasked with providing security, communications, medical evacuation, as well as “logistics support in the field of security.”
On January 6, Republican protesters stormed the Capitol Building and surrounded the Senate Hall. The Senate and the House of Representatives interrupted a meeting at which it was planned to approve the results of the past US presidential elections. During the protests, the police detained almost 70 rioters, five people were killed.
