A nurse from California tested positive for coronavirus eight days after receiving vaccination with the American Pfizer vaccine, according to ABC TV channel.
Matthew W., 45, who works as a nurse in the emergency departments of two California hospitals, was vaccinated on December 18, according to the publication. During the day, his arm ached and there were no other side effects.
Six days later, on Christmas Eve, after a shift in the “coronavirus” ward, the man fell ill. He developed chills, muscle pain and fatigue. The day after Christmas, he tested positive for the coronavirus.
Christian Ramers, an infectious disease specialist at the San Diego Family Health Centers, believes Matthew may have been infected prior to vaccination, as the incubation period lasts up to two weeks. If the infection occurred after receiving the vaccination, then this still corresponds to the accumulated knowledge about the production of antibodies, which takes from 10 to 14 days, the specialist emphasized.
In mid-December, The New York Times reported that several medical workers in Alaska needed emergency treatment after being vaccinated against the Pfizer coronavirus. They had a severe allergic reaction.
