Peter Aven, a former Russian minister and co-owner of Alfa-Bank, was suspected of violating sanctions.

In relation to the Russian businessman Pyotr Aven, who lives in the UK, a criminal case was allegedly opened. The co-owner of Alfa-Bank appears on the list of billionaires most associated with Russian President Vladimir Putin and regularly met with him in the Kremlin.

This was reported by the Russian TASS agency on May 23, citing a source close to the billionaire's entourage .

Aven is allegedly suspected of violating sanctions. A businessman, due to the imposed restrictions, cannot spend more than 2.5 thousand euros per month. However, the UK authorities believe that the billionaire spends much more and leads a too luxurious lifestyle.

The agency clarifies that there is no official confirmation of this information yet.

67-year-old Petr Aven due to imposed sanctions, he recently resigned as chairman of the board of directors of Alfa-Bank, Russia's largest commercial bank. Previously, he was Minister of International Economics in the government of President Boris Yeltsin.
