In the Russian Federation, the wives of conscripts write complaints about the direct line with Putin

They call on other relatives of the mobilized to follow their example.

Participants in a regional chat of mobilized relatives talk about sending SMS to a direct line with the President of the Russian Federation, which will take place on December 14. In them they write about the problems of men at the front in Ukraine.

DW writes about this.

About 30 participants in the Samara chat “The Way Home” reported that they sent SMS to the direct line, complaining about the lack of leave for mobilized people, the complex procedure for payments for injuries and other problems.

In addition, some participants plan to send such messages daily and encourage other mobilized relatives to follow their example.

We would like to add that the families of those mobilized in Russia in recent months have been increasingly demanding that men who have spent more than a year in the war in Ukraine be returned home. They demand that the maximum period of stay of those mobilized in war be limited to one year, that all wounded be commissioned, and that the list of diseases for which one cannot be drafted into the army be expanded.

Local authorities are refusing to allow relatives to hold rallies across Russia, citing the COVID-19 pandemic. The Kremlin actually did not comment on the demands.

Let us remind you that the Russian Ministry of Defense proposed changing the health requirements for conscripts for military service “taking into account the experience of a special military operation.”
