In the Netherlands, a cat locked in a house lived for 52 days, eating paper

Amazing surprises are presented to us by “our little brothers”, who sometimes demonstrate miracles of adaptation to the situation. So in the Netherlands, a simple cat showed resilience and will to live, worthy of Robinson Crusoe himself.

The fact is that the beast spent almost two months alone in a forbidden house without food. According to the Dutch News edition, when the new owners of the house in the city of Schidam opened the doors of the purchased mansion, they gasped when they saw an emaciated cat running out to meet them. It turned out that the previous owner of the property went missing in early July this year, and then the house was sold at an auction. And it was this period of 52 days that the “mustache” lived completely independently without an owner.

Now the animal is in a shelter, where he was given the nickname Finn . The veterinarians who examined the cat believe that during his “imprisonment” he mainly ate paper and drank water from a dripping tap. True, many doubt that one can hold out on pulp for almost two months and believe that Finn had some kind of “secret” food source, for example, forgotten vegetables or bread.

The Dutch authorities are serious about caring for animals, so they put the owner of the cat on the wanted list to “inquire” why he left the pet in such terrible conditions. In the meantime, Finn is undergoing rehabilitation, although he is still distrustful of people. Compassionate animal lovers have already announced a fundraiser for his treatment, so perhaps soon the “mustache-striped” will return to normal shape (he has already gained 400 grams of weight), and then he will find a new owner.
