In Warsaw, a group of men, posing as police officers, entered a house where three Ukrainian women were located and stole a significant amount of money. The attackers had a fake search warrant with them.
This was reported by Piotr Skiba, a spokesman for the Warsaw Regional Prosecutor's Office.
“The attack was a robbery. The attackers stole a large sum of money from the sale of housing in Ukraine. We are talking about 130 thousand dollars, 120 thousand euros and 100 thousand zlotys,” Skiba said.
According to Piotr Skiba, a representative of the Warsaw Regional Prosecutor's Office, the women did not receive any physical injuries, although force was used against them.
“Considering the number of attacks on various individuals, whether citizens of Ukraine or citizens of other eastern countries, which happen in Warsaw, in many cases it is done, in particular, by citizens of Georgia. We cannot exclude that these are people who followed the victims or had information that the women were keeping a large sum of money in the apartment. We have a lot of such cases, usually these are attacks on people who exchange large sums of money in offices (currency exchange offices โ ed.) or banks, most often in offices in Warsaw,” the representative of the prosecutor's office said.
The suspects have not yet been detained, and their number has not been disclosed. The perpetrators are charged with robbery, which carries a prison sentence of 2 to 15 years, and impersonating police officers, which carries a prison sentence of up to 5 years.
