Defense spending in the state budget for 2022 will amount to 6% of the gross domestic product. This is more than UAH 323 billion.
Of these, UAH 133.5 billion was allocated to the budget of the Ministry of Defense for 2022 . Another UAH 85.1 billion is planned to be allocated to cover the needs of military personnel and employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including wages, food for military personnel, the purchase of clothing and social payments to personnel, as well as cash support.
In particular , UAH 71.2 billion will be spent on financial security and military salaries . UAH 7.5 billion is provided for the development of the strategic industry.
Also from the 2022 defense budget UAH 5.5 billion will be allocated to provide housing for ATO/JFO participants with the status of internally displaced persons.
In addition, the budget for 2022 allows to allocate the largest amount over the last period – UAH 5.7 billion – for programs for the development of rocket-reactive weapons and equipment for the Navy.
Another UAH 28.4 billion from the budget of the Ministry of Defense in 2022 is planned to be allocated for the development, purchase, modernization and repair of weapons and military equipment . UAH 5.6 billion will be invested in the development and improvement of infrastructure.
To support the activities of the State Special Transport Service, expenses increased to UAH 1.3 billion.
This will allow the service to improve the infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – construction and repair of military camps, barracks and housing stock of landfills and guard important overpasses, substations and other transport infrastructure facilities.
