In Syria, two soldiers were injured as a result of shelling by militants

Two Syrian soldiers were wounded as a result of mortar shelling of militants of the terrorist group Jebhat al-Nusra, banned in Russia, in the province of Latakia. This was told by the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in Syria, Rear Admiral Oleg Zhuravlev, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Zhuravlev, over the past day in the Idlib de-escalation zone, six attacks by militants were recorded: four in Latakia province, one in Idlib province and one more in Hama province.

On January 3, five soldiers of the Syrian army were killed, another 20 were injured as a result of an attack by militants of the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS, banned in Russia) in Syria. A group of terrorists set up an ambush on the way of an army convoy in the Syrian desert, 50 kilometers from the oil station of Mahatta es-Celisa. The militants shot at one of the buses in which the soldiers were traveling.
