Swedish parliamentarian Aron Emilsson thought about providing military assistance to Ukraine and addressed the head of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde, with a relevant question. It is reported by Russia Today.
The parliamentarian recalled that earlier Linde announced that Sweden had “very strict rules” regarding the export of weapons. In this regard, according to her, the authorities of the country do not consider such supplies to Kiev relevant.
However, Emilsson noted that such a statement hints that the current regulatory framework allegedly does not allow Sweden to export military products to Ukraine. At the same time, a number of countries, including Estonia and Great Britain, observing the same rules, have already made military supplies to Kiev, the parliamentarian pointed out.
“What did the minister mean when she said that it was impossible to export weapons to Ukraine because of the current regulations?” he turned to Linda.
Earlier, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Estonia for supporting Ukrainian democracy. In particular, he expressed gratitude to Tallinn for the transfer of Javelin anti-tank systems to Kiev.
