Hoarseness in voice may be the earliest symptom of the omicron strain of COVID-19, said Ryan Roach, director of Discovery Health, the largest medical insurance company in South Africa (South Africa). Reported by The Sun.
According to him, this symptom can appear even before the patient can be identified with other, more serious signs of infection.
In most cases, hoarseness in the voice can be accompanied by a sore throat. Other signs of infection with the omicron strain can be dry cough, nasal congestion and soreness in the lower back, Roach said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that there can be no exhaustive decisions about the consequences of the omicron strain in Russia, since there is not much information at the moment. He noted that in Russia the level of public immunity is needed more than now, and for this it remains to hope for the conscientiousness of citizens who will be vaccinated for the first time and be vaccinated again.
Earlier, the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that in order to achieve public immunity to COVID-19 in Russia, one hundred percent vaccination of the population is needed. She also thanked the Russians who deliberately vaccinated against the coronavirus.
