Slovakia declares state of emergency on February 26 due to influx of refugees from Ukraine

In Slovakia, a state of emergency was introduced due to the mass arrival of refugees from Ukraine into the country. On Saturday, February 26, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the decision of the Cabinet.
The document says that this measure is taken from 12 noon local time in order to create conditions for preventing and reducing negative consequences due to the arrival of a large number of foreigners on the territory of the state due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special operation in the Donbass. Earlier, on February 21, he signed decrees recognizing the DPR and LPR and agreements on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the republics. On February 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the introduction of martial law in Ukraine and the severance of diplomatic relations with the Russian side.
