The situation with the mutual recognition of covid certificates between Russia and the European Union is complicated, mainly due to organizational or technical problems. Nevertheless, Moscow is confident that the negotiations will end successfully. The work on the recognition of the documents was commented on by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the EU Vladimir Chizhov, quoted by RIA Novosti.
He did not explain what kind of “organizational and technical” problem in question, but said that the discussion of the issue continues. “I’m sure of a positive result, I’m not sure about the timing yet,” the permanent representative noted.
Earlier, Interfax, citing sources, wrote that negotiations between Russia and the European Union (EU) on the mutual recognition of COVID certificates were delayed due to the disagreement between the parties on the verification of digital documents. The Russian covid certificate is a link to the portal of public services, and the European “green passport” (Green pass) itself contains information about the vaccinated or recovered.
