In the Russian city of Kurgan, a powerful explosion occurred at the Sintez plant, one of the ten largest pharmaceutical enterprises in the Russian Federation. Part of the building was destroyed, and eyewitnesses saw a large yellow cloud over the enterprise.

The incident occurred from -for an explosion of methanol vapors on the third floor of an industrial building, but its causes have not yet been clarified. After the explosion, a fire broke out that engulfed about 200 square meters of a partially destroyed workshop.

One of the employees was injured and was urgently hospitalized.
The factory building was seriously damaged, although the supporting structures, according to preliminary data, were not damaged. Eyewitnesses claim that immediately after the explosion they saw a yellow cloud over the plant.
PJSC Sintez is part of the Binnopharm Group holding, which, in particular, is the manufacturer of the Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19, and as well as drugs for the treatment and prevention of coronavirus.
Recall that a state of emergency has been introduced in the Kurgan region of the Russian Federation due to an abnormally large number of forest fires.
