In Russia, the audience of Internet users has reached 124 million people. This is 85% of the country's population. This was stated by the head of Roskomnadzor Andrey Lipov.
Lipov noted that the rapid development of technology brings with it many threats, for example, attacks on critical infrastructures.
“The state should protect its citizens from dangerous content, uncontrolled distribution of personal data, fraud, attacks on children and adolescents. The service has a great responsibility to prevent information threats together with other departments. At the same time, we very much count on the same responsible attitude to new challenges on the part of business, ”TASS quotes the head of the department.
According to Lipov, more than 3 thousand telecom operators provide communication services in the country. The head of the department said that they steadfastly withstood the increase in the load on the network since the beginning of the pandemic. Then the traffic grew by 35% in a matter of days.
Earlier it was reported that by 2022 all socially significant objects will have access to the Internet. Classrooms of 11,000 schools will provide Wi-Fi.
