In Russian Kazan, an imam (Muslim clergyman – Ed.) refused to enter into a religious marriage (nikah) for a couple in which the bride turned out to be transgender.
This is reported by the Russian “Interfax”.
According to the imam, the mother of the groom turned to him with such a request with tears in her eyes.
“I was shocked at first and refused the request. I was born a boy, so I must be a man,” he said.

Recall that in the EU, the court ordered countries to recognize the paternity of both partners from a same-sex couple.
