In Russia, the famous historian Yuri Dmitriev was sentenced to 15 years in prison, who was accused of allegedly “making child pornography and keeping weapons.” However, public figures of the Russian Federation emphasize that this verdict was fabricated, since the historian revealed the truth about the repressions in the USSR.

In the fall of 2020, the court of Karelia has already sentenced the historian to 13 years in prison, but the prosecutor's office demanded 15 years in prison. The Petrozavodsk court satisfied the prosecutor's claim and sentenced the historian to 15 years in prison.
