Amur Region of the Russian Federation on the morning of Wednesday, January 5, an explosion thundered and a fire broke out on the territory of a gas processing plant near the town of Svobodny.

It is noted that at the scene of the incident emergency workers are working, the fire has already been localized. “At about seven in the morning at the Amur GPP, a standard fire extinguishing system was triggered in connection with a local gas ignition at one of the installations,” the press service of the plant said.
The incident occurred during commissioning work under loading. “The fire is localized, there are no casualties. There is no threat to the plant and settlements,” the Amur GPP added.
The city prosecutor's office is investigating the circumstances of the incident. At present, experts are checking the compliance of the gas processing plant with fire safety legislation.
